The Transformation
Jointing Technologies partnered with Pro Outsourcing to implement a transformative procurement strategy. Leveraging our extensive experience in the electrical industry, including work with prominent organisations such as Prysmian Cables and Draka Cables, we undertook a comprehensive review of their sourcing and supply chain operations. This included a full audit of the existing supplier base leading to supplier consolidation, the identification and sourcing of additional product lines to enhance the current range, and rigorous assessment and auditing of new manufacturers, particularly in China and India, ensuring adherence to industry standards and certifications. The work aligned procurement with the company's growth strategy, delivering greater value across the supply chain.
The Result
Pro Outsourcing successfully reduced supply chain complexity and delivered tangible cost savings. The introduction of vetted, cost-effective manufacturers from China and India enabled product cost reductions of between 15% and 22% on key product lines. Beyond product cost savings, further efficiencies were achieved through optimised stock levels, enhanced logistics operations and improvements in courier services, delivering an all-round uplift in supply chain performance.
